An amazing story of World War Two and the struggles people went through. Most of the books have been from the Jewish side and it was interesting to see the other side.

My book club has read many Holocaust books. There are as many compelling stories as there were victims. Please don't deprive yourself of this truly heroic story because it took place during WWII. It is a deeply touching story of survival and profound bravery in the face of evil. If it had been fiction, it would have almost been unbelievable. IT IS TRUE. Since I listened to it on AB, I got to hear Irene's actual voice and my book reading friends were jealous. I have a new hero and her name is Irene Gut.
