The one sample chapter was, bluntly- WEAK. If it's any indication of the rest of the book, stay away, and shame on Bill Nye for giving it such a thumbs up intro. First of all- I'll give you a much quicker way to multiply any number by 11. Ready? (n x 11) = (n x 10) + n. There you go. Take any number n, add a zero to the end, and then add the number. 234 x 11? it's 2340 + 234 = 2574. How about that? I taught it to you in ten seconds. And the other problem is- even if you liked his trick- he doesn't EXPLAIN WHY it works. He gives you example after example, and tells you how easy it is, without explaining why the 'trick' works. It works- but it would be much better to teach/explain what's going on _behind_ his trick. Sorry folks, but I was really underwhemed by the sample chapter. I give him two stars because the tricks work, and because the guy wrote a book- but nothing more.

I bought the hard copy about 4 years ago(2012)...and it is still helping me to this day. It's a great read. Teaches you how to break any problem down. From two by one digit multiplication to 5 digit squares. You'll never look at math the same way again. Check out the videos in YouTube. See what the author's mind can do if you need any more convincing!
