A glowing fireplace, a warm blanket, and a mug of tea were all that I needed to immerse myself in this latest Inspector Rutledge case. An enjoyable romp through the countryside discovering the clues here and there until finally the culpret(s) has been run to ground. A wonderful tale!

I am completely devoted to Inspector Ian Rutledge. Everyone of them, so far, has completely absorbed me. Keep them coming Charles Todd.

Very good book with a solid story line and believable characters. Two thumbs up!

Charles Todd is the author of Legacy of the Dead, A Test of Wills, Wings of Fire, and Search the Dark. He lives on the East Coast, where he is at work on the next novel in the Inspector Ian Rutledge series, A Fearsome Doubt.
