In 1965 nearly four hundred men were interviewed and only thirty-two selected for the infant LRRP Detachment of the lst Brigade, 101st Airborne Division. Old-timers called it the suicide unit. These guys have b___s the size of cannon balls. It is easy to get addicted to the rush of combat plus the desire to continue to serve with fellow LRPS so as to never let your fellow warriors down. These guys 6 men at a time are facing life and death combat actions on a regular basis that would make a lot of infintry troops say that is not for me. LRPS are the best of the best. This is a very well written book that will keep you up at nite to finish.

Excellent reading it gives me good insight on what soldiers go through in war I'm army veteran but not a combat veteran

Excellent book. Very specific accounts of true heroes fighting and dying not only for their country, but for each other as well.
