This book has a far-fetched plot that is captivating and makes you question the validity of history. Perhaps dark secrets such as this haunted the Golden Age. The romantic in me loved the blossoming love between Gabriel and Nell, while maintaining the integrity of the political firestorm that would have occurred in such a situation. I also liked how Nell struggled with the same traits as Elizabeth, like their charm and biting wit. I would totally recommend this book to those who value history...with a twist!
