The Far Country
A very appealing book describing immigrants to Australia after WWII learning to love their new country.
And a sweet love story too.
The Far Country
Nevil Shute wrote so many great stories, discerning top one is difficult; however, this is beyond question at the top of the list along with A Town Like Alice, Trustees and Piped Piper. He was a master story teller who was the furthest from a formula writer as you can find. He wrote from his heart and brain as only a brilliant engineer can soar.
The far country
Have read this book years ago many times, now I have it on my phone and I just read it twice. I love the way the story is told and the way in which the accents are put forward in writing and the description of my country at the wars end. Just a very compelling book LOVED IT
