This book is incredible. Anyone who is living w bipolar disorder or knows someone close to them has bipolar needs to read this book. It sheds light on what it feels like and means to be bipolar. It changed my life and my treatment.

Held my interest. First book of this subject for me. The author explained everything that she went through very well. New author to me... Kay Redfield Jamison — I plan on reading more of her books!

Accurate & eloquent
A close friend recommended this book to me when she felt that I might have bipolar disorder. Reading it now for the second time makes me realize how this book and my friend saved my life. If not for the pair I may have been stuck in a whirlwind of self destructive mood swings indefinitely. It's a must read for anyone who's curious about the illness, whether it effects them or not.
