If you've ever wondered what a mans real role in life should look like and wanted a book to get you focused in the right direction get Tender Warrior! It will open your eyes to see if you are a man as God created you and open your heart and mind to be all you can be so you can finish well. Thank you Stu Weber you are a true Tender Warrior.
How to be a man
Stu Weber writes an excellent manual on how to be a man. I give this book to my friends when they get married, divorced, have a child or any life event.
A Little Too Tender
I wanted to read this book for some time thinking that it might help me learn how to be a better father, husband, and man. I was particularly interested in getting some practical advice on how to be a little more gentle in my day to day interactions. At times I lean towards the warrior side of things and forget that toughness is not one of the fruits of the Spirit. Although the reviews of this book are very favorable, I was rather disappointed with Tender Warrior. I really wanted to like it, but to my surprise there was not a whole lot of Scripture found in the book. I would have liked to have seen more Christian men used as examples to emulate as well. However, something Stu Weber said that I did find inspiring was how he was able to attend seminary full-time, hold three jobs in three distant locations, and still find time to be a husband and the father of two little boys. Although reading that does not help me with the gentleness factor, it does provide me optimism as I consider furthering my education.
