Publisher Description

Jeremiah Thurston built Thurston House, San Francisco's grandest mansion. When he found himself alone with his infant daughter, Sabrina, he was determined to bring her up to run the biggest mining business in California. Nothing would stop her from taking over his dynasty -- not the San Francisco earthquake, the deadly schemes of a cunning rival, the Great depression, or her own needs and determination as she carries on the traditions established by her father.

Mary Louise Zeller ,

A generational epic…

I loved this; it was a generational epic. My only criticism is that it ended to abruptly. I wanted more.

Best book she has ever written

This was the first book of hers I read some 30 years ago, it hooked me to all of her books. I have read everything she has ever written, this is still the best book she ever wrote in my eyes. I have read it countless times. I love it!

I think this is probally her best book ever. It actually covers three generations and doesn't leave you hanging wanting more. Great book.
