About this ebook

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • READ WITH JENNA BOOK CLUB PICK AS FEATURED ON TODAY • “Summer Sisters is a book to return to again and again.”—Colleen Hoover

“As warm as a summer breeze blowing through your hair, as nostalgic as James Taylor singing ‘How Sweet It Is.’ You remember. So does Judy Blume. How sweet it was.”—Chicago Tribune

In the summer of 1977, Victoria Leonard’s world changes forever when Caitlin Somers chooses her as a friend. Dazzling, reckless Caitlin welcomes Vix into the heart of her sprawling, eccentric family, opening doors to a world of unimaginable privilege, sweeping her away to vacations on Martha’s Vineyard, an enchanting place where the two friends become “summer sisters.”

Now, years later, Vix is working in New York City. Caitlin is getting married on the Vineyard. And the early magic of their long, complicated friendship has faded. But Caitlin begs Vix to come to her wedding, to be her maid of honor. And Vix knows that she will go—because she wants to understand what happened during that last shattering summer. And, after all these years, she needs to know why her best friend—her summer sister—still has the power to break her heart.

First book I've read by Judy Blume since I was a child and loved her classics. Summer Sisters is a wonderful coming-of-age story as we follow Vix from her pre-teen days to adulthood, learning about friendship, love, family relationships and finding her own independence as a young woman.

The story starts when Victoria (better known as Vix) and Caitlin come to the Vineyard for their summer vacations in sixth grade.During this long period, they both become best friends and swear they'll never be ordinary. And Vix shared a unique bond with her summer family. They both share their secrets, confessions with each other. They remained with each other till the time came for college.and soon Vix loses connections with Caitlin. But while she was working in NY,she gets a call from her best friend and she gets transported back to her lovely childhood memories. And then she becomes the last one to ever see Caitlin again. I really liked some few lines in the book like when Caitlin says to Vix "No matter how many guys come and go in our lives we'll always be together" and "i love you Vix,Do you love me too?" Its a well written book and I would recommend it for all Judy Blume fans.It nearly brought tears to my eyes.Well done Miss Blume!!

Summer Sisters is a moving story of a special friendship between two girls as they bond, grow, and mature into women. It will make you laugh, cry, and leave you breathless with a shocking ending. I loved it.
