About this ebook

#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The master of the legal thriller probes the savage depths of racial violence in this searing courtroom drama featuring the beloved Jake Brigance.

“John Grisham may well be the best American storyteller writing today.”—The Philadelphia Inquirer

The life of a ten-year-old black girl is shattered by two drunken and remorseless white men. The mostly white town of Clanton in Ford County, Mississippi, reacts with shock and horror at the inhuman crime—until the girl’s father acquires an assault rifle and takes justice into his own hands.

For ten days, as burning crosses and the crack of sniper fire spread through the streets of Clanton, the nation sits spellbound as defense attorney Jake Brigance struggles to save his client’s life—and then his own.

Don’t miss John Grisham’s new book, THE EXCHANGE: AFTER THE FIRM!

He's a great writer of "thrillers" and they are easy to read and they keep you on your "toes", so to speak, to the very end. That's why they seem to be long and drawn out sometimes, but he just wants to captivate your attention in each Chapter to the very end of the Novel!

I was recommended this book by a friend. I have always loved reading Grisham's books, but for some reason, never picked this one up. As it began, I was horrifyed reading the events taking place. I automatically sided with the main characters of Carl and Jake. I fell into the plot easily and the emotions of the book seemed to seep off the pages. As I reached the climax of the book, I was literally on the edge of my seat! Since then, John Grisham has been one of my favorite authors. And this book remains as one of my favorite books of all time. A must read for everyone!!!

I think that "A Time To Kill" is Mr. Grisham's best book so far. I've read many of his other novels, some are great, and some are so-so, but this novel ranks at the top. It is full of different issues like rape, murder, kkk, racism, etc. The plot just keeps on building and building. Just when you think that it is about to slow down something else happens. I recommend this book to all the folks. Enjoy it!
