About this audiobook

The chilling tale of the undead in a galaxy far, far away.

“This is the Star Wars of every horror fan’s dreams—gory, funny, and brimming with a blood-spattered cast of swashbucklers and space-zombies.”—Seth Grahame-Smith, author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

When the Imperial prison barge Purge—temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers, Rebels, scoundrels, and thieves—breaks down in a distant part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back—bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours, nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine.

And death is only the beginning.

The Purge’s half-dozen survivors will do whatever it takes to stay alive. But nothing can prepare them for what lies waiting aboard the Star Destroyer. For the dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry.

(Spoiler Free) I really did enjoy both the audiobook and actual book, the background sounds really makes you feel like you're part of the ride and experience. My problems with the book is more around some of the characters which were introduced that I automatically knew they'll be fine. And sometimes there are some parts of the story that were predictable and some dives into detail did kinda drag on. all in all though, it's a really good read and the audiobook is also great to listen to, either at work, school, etc. Good read.

I love this audiobook for a few reasons the sound effects make it seem like you're actually on the spaceship and when bizarre things were happening like when the professor was cutting into the patient's and when the zombies were attacking it felt like you were actually there the all the sound effects it was incredible.

I thought how the vocals were presented was quite enjoyable and the story was well crafted. To add the vocals also sounds the way I enjoy them to sound and i liked the differing ranges the reading was doing for each characters voice. I also enjoyed the the echoed chapter shouts that gave off an eerie feeling throughout the story. I did have issue with them adding in some key starwars characters because it made it obvious those characters were never at risk but they wrote their involvement well.
