Escape

Both comforting and soothing the voice of the narrator was like a friend riding along with my on my morning commute. While the storyline was not original it still resonated with all women who sometimes want to ride off in the sunset trying for a fresh start on life. I loved the nature description, the animal refuge and the fact that it played in a fictional small town in my home state.

This is a fun listen and I was engaged with the story the entire time. Definitely not the most brilliant story, but the characters were interesting, the setting was just wonderful, and the story was pleasant. I don't usually have high expectations for fiction of this nature, but it was better than I expected. I don't give anything more than 3 stars that isn't life-changing or just down-right brilliant and well-crafted, but this was as good as a 3-star can get for me.

Barbara Delinsky weaved an interesting human interest story about a women attorney who reached a burn out and decided to make radical changes in her life. I liked the fact that she reached out to an animal refuge to work through her life situation. There is drama, crime and legal suspense and interpersonal drama. Good story and the narrator was great.
