About this ebook

They were the biggest Ranger company in Vietnam, and the best. For eighteen months, John L. Rotundo and Don Ericson braved the test of war at its most bloody and most raw, specializing in ambushing the enemy and fighting jungle guerillas using their own tactics. From the undiluted high of a "contact" with the enemy to the anguished mourning of a fallen comrade, they experienced nearly every emotion known to man--most of all, the power and the pride of being the finest on America's front lines.

I pushed myself to finish the book. It was slow and a bit boring. If you are looking for action packed this is not the book to read. Most of the action was in perimeter with alcohol and some drugs. If at the beginning of each chapter the name of each author was not written you would never of known that it was written by two men. There was never enough distinction made between the two men, not enough difference in personality that as a reader you could easily identified who was writing. I hoped this book helped the authors and fellow soldiers to express themselves. Thank you for the service you gave to our country.

Excellent read. Writers are not afraid to describe their war as they actually experienced it. You can only truly appreciate it if you identify with the authors contacts and their stand downs.
