Publisher Description

Scruples is the novel that  created publishing history, the first-and widely  acknowledged to be the very best-novel ever written  about the staggeringly luxurious life of a Beverly  Hills boutique and the people who work in it.  Scruples was translated into twenty  languages and made Rodeo Drive famous around the  world. The New York Post said  that "Scruples was born to  be a smash bestseller. . . It has more inside  information about the worlds of high fashion and  Hollywood than you'd find in a dozen manuals."  With Scruples, Judith Krantz earned her reputation  as a blazingly talented and original storyteller.  she takes her readers behind the scenes of wealthy  and fame to show them the real people and the real  emotions that exist at the core of even the most  high-powered lives. Scruples is the leader of her  #1 best-selling  novels.

Lisa Barton ,

It's ok

The first book ms. Krantz wrote being "scruples" started out interesting and I couldn't put it down. However, when she introduces Vito and painstakingly writes about the film industry, it went down hill. I skimmed the last four chapters because it was too detail oriented , boring and I was hoping for a climax. Never came. If your a fan of ms. Krantz buy it. If you like more drama and are into a read that enthrals you, skip it. I intend to read scruples two, but I hope her passion for these characters in the series will improve. She, in my opinion, writes about her professional background with two much detail thus forgetting to write a " a good book".

Appalling amount of typos. Itunes should be ashamed!

This story is a fun beach read, even if Krantz can be a bit misogynistic at times, that can be attributed to the fact it is set in the late 1970's. But I could not believe how many typos there were!! I am used to finding at least 1 in every book - and this includes print books- but this had well over 20, and in the sample book at the end, entire sentences and paragraphs are missing. If this is how itunes re-types a book for e-publication, then our society is doomed to become less and less intelligent. It is shameful!
