Robert Ludlum was a genius. read this as a high schooler in the 1990s in Zimbabwe. Just finished rereading it again as an adult living in the USA. I missed a lot of the nuances as a kid and as a Zimbabwean with limited understanding of American culture. This Bourne series is just a masterpiece. The Bourne movies, though very good in their own right, didn't do justice to the original story in my opinion.

The characters are ridiculously lucky but ludlum keeps his believability streak intact.

Robert Ludlum was the author of twenty-one novels, each a New York Times bestseller. There are more than 210 million of his books in print, and they have been translated into thirty-two languages. In addition to the Jason Bourne series—The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum—he was the author of The Scarlatti Inheritance, The Chancellor Manuscript, and The Apocalypse Watch, among many others. Mr. Ludlum passed away in March, 2001.
