About the author

Alois Podhajsky (1898-1973) was an army officer and Olympian who served for more than 25 years as the director of the Spanish Riding School in Vienna. He was notable for training Lipizzan horses and winning the bronze medal in equestrian dressage during the 1936 Olympic Games.
