Publisher Description

In a feat of virtuoso storytelling, Anne Rice unleashes Akasha, the queen of the damned, who has risen from a six-thousand-year sleep to let loose the powers of the night. Akasha has a marvelously devious plan to “save” mankind and destroy the vampire Lestat—in this extraordinarily sensual novel of the complex, erotic, electrifying world of the undead.

Way to many characters for one narrator

This was honestly painful to get through. There’s way to many characters talking for one narrator or who barely changes his voice. I had no idea what was going on at one point.

I’ll poor end to the trilogy

If you enjoyed Interview with the Vampire, and The Vampire Lestat, you pretty much have to read or listen to this one too. I did find it far inferior to the first two novels, however, and this was my experience all three times I’ve read it over the years.

The “legend of the twins” gets really old, really fast. Where I think it is meant to build suspense, it just gets dull and uninteresting. How far different from the wonderful things about Marius and those who must be kept that were revealed in the last book. Quite a let down, unfortunately, but still something you probably need to read to get the full story.
