Fortune, fame, and folly. The narrator does splendid work sharing the tales of a few who set out to strike it rich, though by very different means, in the Klondike. We listened to this on our cross country drive. I've listened to it several times now. It is simply a good book.

Howard Blum is the author of the New York Times bestseller and Edgar Award winner American Lightening, as well as such bestsellers as Wanted!, The Gold Exodus, and Gangland. He is currently a contributing editor at Vanity Fair. While at the New York Times, he was twice nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for investigative reporting.
