CLAIRE HARMAN is the author of Sylvia Townsend Warner, for which she won the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, as well as biographies of Fanny Burney and Robert Louis Stevenson, and Jane’s Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World.
