Publisher Description

"The most winning junior detective ever in teen lit. (Take that, Nancy Drew!)" —Midwest Children's Book Review

Sammy knew that getting to know her new rockstar dad on a cruise would be a little uncomfortable. . . . But when the heiress to a perfume empire disappears from the ship, it turns out everyone's in for a rocky ride.

In this penultimate book in the Sammy Keyes mystery series, Wendelin Van Draanen pays homage to the mystery genre. This book is a classic locked-room whodunnit—Sammy Keyes style.

The Sammy Keyes mysteries are fast-paced, funny, thoroughly modern, and true whodunits. Each mystery is exciting and dramatic, but it's the drama in Sammy's personal life that keeps readers coming back to see what happens next with her love interest Casey, her soap-star mother, and her mysterious father.

is this taken? what about this ,

Absolutely Awesome!!!!!

I had this book on preorder for months. I love Sammy Keyes to death. This particular book was one of the best so far. (My favorite is probably The Curse of Moustache Mary)
It was totally a mystery. (Some mysteries are obvious from beginning to end.) I got thrown off a bunch, (although, I did figure out how to decode the notes before Sammy did) and I definitely didn't expect the ending. I was very relived, let me tell you.
Marissa seemed a little different from previous books. I missed Casey, and my heart just about broke when I realized that Billy wasn't in the book. (Billy is, doubtlessly, my absolute favorite. He, Casey, and Marissa remind me of real people that I know and love.)
I'm worried that this is the last book. Sammy's fourteen, she knows who her dad is, all the Mckenzie drama has come to an end, and Sammy and Casey are pretty much forever. Plus, the ending of the book is very final.
In all, though, I loved it. I only put it down to go to bed, then got up early to finish. Although you pretty much have to read the rest of the series first, it's a must-read and you shouldn't regret it.

HeinkeFamily ,

Yay!!!

I have read all the Sammy Keyes books up until this one and I am very excited for it to come out. This is the only series I can actually sit and READ for long periods of time.
