I received the three books as a gift in about 1950. I was 7 years old then. I have NEVER stopped loving these books - they are so fascinatiing. Even the illustrations are unique. They were my 53 year old son's favorite, also, and he asked for a set for his son. Now I bought another set for my godchild's little girl - and read almost all of it in one sitting - aloud to her. She LOVES Boris and the whole 3 stories. It would be really neat to have a stuffed animal like Boris to give to the children who are in love with this series.

This was one of my husband's favorite as a kid, and now our children ask for it over and over again. No doubt they'll read it to their children one day.

When I had my father's dragon it was an audio book but I still think that it is one of the best story's I've ever heard and I think lots more people should listen to the audio book because the voice puts the tale in your mind like you are there watching all of the actions that Elmer makes it is amazing.
