About this ebook

Volume I of The Dragonriders of Pern®, the groundbreaking series by master storyteller Anne McCaffrey

On a beautiful world called Pern, an ancient way of life is about to come under attack from a myth that is all too real. Lessa is an outcast survivor—her parents murdered, her birthright stolen—a strong young woman who has never stopped dreaming of revenge. But when an ancient threat to Pern reemerges, Lessa will rise—upon the back of a great dragon with whom she shares a telepathic bond more intimate than any human connection. Together, dragon and rider will fly . . . and Pern will be changed forever.

Loved all the books 📚 first time I read the trilogy was in the Navy on a submarine in the mid 70's. I've read all the books and met Ann in the late 90's and her son was writing his own Pern series in the same fashion as his mother. I highly recommend you take an adventure with dragons and the people who ride them. A great sci-fi series of all time.

Wow, it's been a lot more decades than I wish to discuss 🤣 since I finally began reading the Pern series! Of course the name of the book was different than it is now! Originally, my sister was into it right before my 16th birthday. Of course I was an idiot being a teen in the mid~70's! I had other exciting adventures coming up that summer of '76. Little did I know that I'd be whisked away on a starship to start a new colony on a planet FAR FAR AWAY! Of course that nugget is told in a different book lol. I WAS SHOCKED WHEN I BEGAN TO READ ... I fell into the Dragon Riders of Pern series! NICE !This exciting adventure book is thick with rich imagery about their lives, societal morés (so different between riders & people of the land,) relationships, the regression of technology/medical abilities, & their history they experienced~taught the next. ❤️ Love how lives merged together in the now, previous generations, & into the next generations!

Anne M. , has a very distinctive way of putting together a fantasy book that grabs your interest from the very beginning . Not only that , she has an ability to bring you into the story as if you are a part of it. The way she incorperates the same characters in almost all her novels and intergrates them instills an almost historical sense that brings the stories alive and and makes them believable . I find it at times very hard to put the books down while I tend to other things. And when I finish a book , I feel as though I'm a part of the story and can't wait to start the next one. I've read several already and I'm looking forward to reading them all . I do recommend them to all who loves a good adventure . But be ready to laugh and cry , and feel all the emotions like on a beloved roller-coaster ride.
