Really a great work on its own, but SO MUCH BETTER after reading the Drigonrider trilogy and, especially, the Harperhall trilogy. I so wish these books had the same popularity in the real world as they do in my circle of friends... This book is so gut wrenchingly good... It gave me closure for the original story

ANY of Anne McCaffery's books are page turners! One i especially enjoy is The Master Harper of PERN. Want a great read, then CHOOSE; "MasterHarper of PERN. Stories drawn from challenges of Earth settlers bringing hopes & dreams to their new home: - identified by Earth exploration- labled P.E.R.N.... hope you enjoy & seek out other's in this much loved serries.

About the author
Anne McCaffrey is one of the world's most popular authors. Her first novel was published in l967. Since then, she has written dozens of books, of which there are more than twelve million copies in print. Before her success as a writer, she was involved in theater. She directed the American premiere of Carl Orff's Ludus de Nato Infante Mirificus in which she also played a witch.
McCaffrey lives in County Wicklow, Ireland, in a house of her own design, Dragonhold-Underhill, so named because she had to dig out a hill to build it.
