The books are great individually, but when you look at the series you notice a recurring theme of.. problem starts, here comes allanon with dire news, a "fellowship" is formed, long walks through the woods, internal conflict, then resolution. Dont get me wrong, I do like the series but I hope the heritage trilogy has more dynamic plot lines.

It was ill written and would often jump vast lines of important dialogue in favor of narrative summary. It was increadibly difficult to read through, and while the story is dcent enough, it pulls heavily from all the most higjly reguarded fantasy novels and has nothing new or interesting to say.

I read this series as a kid, maybe 12, 13 years old and I enjoyed it but remember thinking it felt like a knock off of Lord of The Rings which I had read before this. Not saying that's bad, but everything from the main character (as frodo) the druid(? can't remember) as Gandalf, the impending evil creeping over the land, etc. Not to mention being broken into 3 physical books :). If you read LOTR and that was your true "fantasy / sword and sorcery" love, when you start to read this you will be like, "wait second... this is the exact same story...".
