If you have actually read through the previous war arc then this is beyond a flagrant dismissal of nearly all the previous character development and relations between each. In a desperate attempt to make this book into a romance novel the aithor reset the relations and interests to the young years of the twins that had long since been moved past and onto new love interests. And rather than any development to explain why the twins are not interested in their partners from prior they write a sentence.
