About this ebook

When Eden Gillman needed someone most, Navy SEAL Izzy Zanella was always there for her—offering a place to stay and a shoulder to cry on. And when she got pregnant with another man’s child, he offered his hand in marriage. Their life together seemed meant to be, until Eden’s miscarriage left them devastated and estranged. Yet in order to save Eden’s teenage brother, Ben, from his abusive stepfather, Eden once again reaches out to Izzy for help. He doesn’t hesitate to reach back, and there’s no denying the passion that still crackles between them. Together they wage a courtroom battle and win custody. But when Ben attracts some dangerous enemies, Izzy and Eden must pull together like never before and strike back, swift and hard, to protect their own—and everything they hold most precious.

While I usually enjoy her books, I've noticed she has become more preachy with each new novel. I don't mind except I feel I've been through a lecture at a conference vs. enjoying my down time away from the stress of life. Think I'll find a new author to follow (which makes me sad).

I had given up on the Troubleshooter series since they were becoming monotonous. Shock upon shock, I seem to be drawn to Brockmann's 'lesser' characters, like Cosmo, although I do like all the others (although I'm obsessed with Jules. Obsessed). But I fell in love with Danny in Hot Pursuit and HAD to read his HEA with Jenn. In prior books, I was disappointed in Izzy's story, hated Eden (though Danny's holier than thou attitude towards her pissed me off) and found their story worthy of puking. So I read this for Danny's story and swore I was done. But man did Brockmann pull a rabbit... The reason reason I love Danny is BECAUSE he can be such an a$$hole, but he's honourable and responsible. To me, totally believable as a flesh and human male. I had had a hard time liking Izzy because he fell for a teen, but I LOVE him after this book. The characters aren't perfect, and I love that. She made them unbelievably lovable and relatable. And who doesn't love Jenn? And Ben is obviously the next Jules. I also liked that there were minimal cameos; I found that for me the cameos sometimes cluttered the books. Bottom line is, I'm looking forward to her revival of the series
