Fantastic prequel to resistance 3. It is better than the gathering storm in my opinion.
Meh...
It was something better than Gathering Storm, but it is still not without flaws.
1# The dialogue was sometime chessy, especially during the romance between Joe Capelli and Susan, and near every chapter.
2# There are too many real products and weapons, and makes me wonder if the author was endorsing the book for product placements (beside Resistance 3 of course).
3# And there are some inconsistency such as a "Bullseye III" - there were only two versions of the Bullseye seen in the games - and a minor reference to America having participated in World War One - the U.S. entered the war in the Resistance universe.
4# The product detail in the book didn't live up to see Capelli actually being hunted down by people for killing Hale despite some characters were obviously mad at him for this. Nor does it explains the title - was it referring to the Chimeran tower in NYC?
5# Lastly it really doesn't explaining what had happened at the end of Resistance 2. Such as the planets/moons seen at the end. Was Earth teleported to another part of space?
Amazing!
A fantastic book! A must read for all fans of Resistance and post-apocalyptic lovers.
