Who would have thought that a book that centers around the first year in a widow's life would be so light and entertaining? Right in the beginning we meet a great couple - Hannah and John, but right after meeting them the reader learns that John is killed in an accident leaving Hannah to raise their daughter, Ellie. Hannah was the career woman, while John stayed home with Ellie, so this is a complete life change for Hannah, one that is going to take a lot of support from her friends.

Unlike 95% of the cap I see on here and in the library. Hysterically funny dysfunctional YET still has that "heart" all the "reviewers" write about in the back if the NOT funny books they say are "hilarious"..NO whiny lead female.yes she has drama but 1 legit reason 2 she makes fun of it/herself unlike the rest of those other books...FINALLY!

Read it. Laugh out loud with yourself..nothing better than that! Trust me, you will relate to one or all the characters in one way or another!

Gigi Levangie Grazer is the bestselling author of four previous novels, including The Starter Wife, first a miniseries and then a series on the USA Network, and Maneater, now a Lifetime miniseries. Her most recent book, Queen Takes King, is currently under option at Lifetime. Grazer has also written the screenplay for Stepmom, starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon, and articles for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Glamour. She lives in Los Angeles with her two children and one miniature dachshund.
