All those who gave this book low ratings because it "jumped around" too much, or it gave too much backstory on the bad guys, or they didnt like how the child was treated...you just need to broaden your mind and understand that "life" itself is just so. Nothing is simple, life skips and starts, children are brutalized and killed EVERY day, and bad guys never let you know why they are that way...so feel lucky for the insight. GREAT READ!!!

This is a great drama-suspence book. It offers a variety of literary to keep a male or female reader hooked until you are finished reading the book. It also has plenty for dog lovers. It also involves the human heart condition,willing to sacrifice for what they believe in. I highly recommend this book. Koonts has done a wonderful job in this book. J.G.

I loved this story, one of my favorites and I have read many of Dean's novels. It's another one of his that once you start reading you cannot stop!! ♡ Thanks again Dean
