About this ebook

Druid Atticus O’Sullivan hasn’t stayed alive for more than two millennia without a fair bit of Celtic cunning. So when vengeful thunder gods come Norse by Southwest looking for payback, Atticus, with a little help from the Navajo trickster god Coyote, lets them think that they’ve chopped up his body in the Arizona desert.

But the mischievous Coyote is not above a little sleight of paw, and Atticus soon finds that he’s been duped into battling bloodthirsty desert shapeshifters called skinwalkers. Just when the Druid thinks he’s got a handle on all the duplicity, betrayal comes from an unlikely source. If Atticus survives this time, he vows he won’t be fooled again. Famous last words.

Don’t miss any of Kevin Hearne’s phenomenal Iron Druid Chronicles novels:
HOUNDED | HEXED | HAMMERED | TRICKED | TRAPPED | HUNTED | SHATTERED | STAKED

I have to agree with other reviews and say this book wasn't as good as the others, possibly because I expected to have more depth of characters rather than adding new magical powers to the list, as they are growing hard to keep track of. So many Gods and magical creatures and ever new ones, but I have so many questions about the ones already named. I like this storyline OK, I'm just hoping for more depth and less breadth.

Half of this was great, the other half was shameless pandering to environmentalists. Entire chapters devoted to bashing coal or oil companies without contributing to the story whatsoever. He didn't do this in the first three books, why is he doing it now? I want to like this, but it's difficult when half the book is lecture on environmentalism.

This is not one of those books that will not forever change your life after you read it but it will however entertain you immensely for eleven hours as you listen to the quirky commentary, fast paced action, and absurd scenarios all brought to life by Luke Daniels amazing narration. Kevin Hearne has created a series that is absolutely hilarious yet has intense action scenes as the Druid seems to always find himself in trouble. This novel has a certain twist, which I must keep to myself as it will most definitely spoil a part of the book, that is so unexpected yet you wonder why you didn’t think of it in the first place. I love this series, but the best experience I have had is in listening to the narration. Luke Daniels is phenomenal in bringing to life each of the characters with his ability to seamlessly switch from one voice to the next, from the western accent to Oberon’s voice this is a must listen.
