It's sad and depressing and there's no relief from that awfulness. The reason I love Star Wars is because of the way it makes you feel, like there's always hope. This book drags you along believing there could be hope and then literally kills it. I honestly don't know why authors today think they can't have somewhat happy endings because it isn't realistic enough. By the end of this book I absolutely hated it. Every hopeful possible outcome I would of wanted to of happened died. LITERALLY!

Although I would have preferred that this book was made into episodes for Star Wars: The Clone Wars, I enjoyed it nevertheless. It was good to see Quinlan Vos featured in the primary canon again. The overall story was cohesive and easy to follow. At the same time, it took care to develop its characters and backdrop before actually getting to the point. I like how the Jedi take an unusual approach in engaging Dooku by using Vos. Plus, I also appreciate that the story introduces new people and places, as well as bringing back Asajj Ventress. I highly recommend.

Pretty okay. Starts slow finishes pretty good. I think I'm more into legends books than the new canon but the book itself was fairly well written and the characters were complex enough to care about with a few plot twists that were obvious and a few I didn't see coming. There are some appearances by familiar characters despite the book being centered around a Jedi master vos. There are some epic force battles and regular dramatic fights. Good all arounder book.
