The much-anticipated third book in Paolini's Inheritance Cycle continues to rely heavily on classic fantasy tropes. The novel launches with magician and Dragon Rider Eragon, his cousin Roran and the dragon Saphira on a quest to rescue Roran's betrothed. The cousins soon split up, and Roran undergoes his own series of heroic tests, culminating in a well-choreographed and intense fight against an Urgal (a ram-human hybrid). Eragon, at the same time, encounters treacherous dwarves, undergoes even more training with the elf Oromis and gains a magical sword suitable for a Dragon Rider. The silly revelations about Eragon's background in the previous book, Eldest, are given a new spin near the end, but the change is neither unexpected nor interesting. Predictably, the book concludes with even more character deaths and another battle, but those expecting a resolution will have to wait until the next novel. The clich\xE9d journey may appeal to younger readers of genre fiction. Older teens, even those who might have first cut their teeth on Paolini's writing years ago, are less likely to be impressed. Ages 12-up.

I have never cried so hard over a book before...absolutely must read, regardless of whether you hate fantasy. Wonderful messages have been transpired to me through the ever intelligent words of this amazing author. His talent is unmatched in any book I have been graced by reading.

This book is AMAZING!! I THINK EVERYONE AT AGE 12 SHOULD READ THE SERIES! THE INHERITANCE CYCLE IS MY FAVORITE SERIES 4 EVER!!
Crazy AWESOME BOOK
I've to be completely honest, I am 14 years old and as you people know 14 year olds DO NOT READ. Well I don't know why but one day I said "hey this cover of this book looks kinda cool" I just bought Eragon as a DECORATION! One day on summer break, I was alone in my house with absolutely nothing to do. There was no internet and I still didn't have a phone to use or text or call or whatever. So I just took the book and started reading. The first part about the Shades and stuff I completely didn't understand, so I closed the book and went to have a snack and came back, and I thought, "hey, I've nothing to do, this is better than nothing" So I got to the part where Saphira hatches and I just COULDNT stop, now I'm on Brisingr, and I'm liking it a lot. In fact, I'm loving it. So yeah give it a try, i liked it and I don't read. If you are a book persone I'm sure you wont regret it. And I thank YOU Mr. Paolini for making such a good story.
