About this ebook

When a little boy named Rajani ventures into the jungle, he runs into several tigers who make him give them his fine new red coat, blue trousers, purple shoes with crimson linings, and even his green umbrella! But Rajani outsmarts the tigers in the end, in this kinder retelling of Helen Bannerman’s Little Black Sambo. New illustrations and non-offensive names and character depictions make this story lovable again.

If you've got a problem with a book, don't read it. Censoring or changing a published body of work to suit your ideals is simply sweeping YOUR issues under the rug and pretending that certain occurrences never existed. If you can't take it, you should probably stick to reading Richie Rich comic books.

I had the book LITTLE BLACK SAMBO as a child and it was a favorite. Anyone who thinks it PC "offensive" needs a course in mental hygiene. It has no offensive words, actions, import, intent, or meaning. "SAMBO" was a description of escaped slaves who lived in a wilderness area of a Caribbean island. SAMBO isn't an offensive pejorative. It's a descriptor of those who are proud of their independence and humanity. Reissuing the story with a changed title is what's offensive.
