As cringey as the movie was, the book was even cringier. It was a good idea and it was well-written, (yes, I know books aren't supposed to be realistic) but things the characters say and do in the most cliché manner made me have to put the book down and continue the next day, purely out of secondhand embarrassment. When you are looking for a book you want to have something that is unrealistic in plot, but somehow crazily realistic people make it happen, which makes the book even better because you don't expect these normal people to go through the most abnormal situations, and I really wasn't feeling that with this book. The characters themselves were so unrealistic in their actions (purely based on who they were portrayed as personality-wise) that it made the book predictable and unrelatable. At the end of a romance novel I want to say "Wow, I want that," not, "That would never happen to a real person ever so why even bother with love?" 10/10 for effort, after all, 17? She has zero life experience and can still write a book that's bearable to read, major respect for that.

After watching the movie I was so excited to discover the book, but was horribly let down. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because it might have been better had I not been comparing it to the movie. However, I know there would still be things i didn't like. The main this is how they kept talking about Noah being a horrible person for how he treated her when Lee found out. Really? He was horrible? She's the one who refused to talk to him after she insisted they keep it a secret.

I saw the Netflix movie first and decided I wanted to read the book and like always the book is better. This was a really cute book. Some very embarrassing moments and so really down to earth times. Over all a great book that I would recommend to anyone
