I've read it. It isn't depressing as I quite thought it would be. However, I loved it 😍. It was amazing and way more dramatic than the movie itself. It explains more about each character. It was sad but it didn't have me sobbing for weeks like they say. But still, totally recommend it

Zusak's use of language is captivating. Every page I turn takes me deeper in the scenery Zusak builds and in the psyche of each of the characters. Great fluid narration and characterization.

The author's use of figurative language is mesmerizing and poetic. I am in love with the way words are used in this story. Interesting use of death as the narrator. Beautiful, thought provoking story.
