This book takes you on a strange and at times uncomfortable adventure. Love the humor and the constant suspense, just don't expect to get anything out of it.

100 pages in, so fatigued from suspending reality that I want to stab myself in the forehead with a letter opener, I push on.

Off the beaten path through an actual path to get to some really deep things in a weirdly original, funny/sometimes dark way. It sticks with you afterward, a mark of something better than most.

Drew Magary is a correspondent for GQ and a columnist for Deadspin. He is the author of the memoir Someone Could Get Hurt and the novel The Postmortal.
