What does sand the humble stuff of beaches and dunes have to do with the making of the contemporary world? Quite a lot, actually, says journalist Beiser. Who would have thought that a book about sand could be so fascinating! Highly recommend!

Wanted to read about sand and it’s many uses. First half of the book did a good job of that. The last half was devoted to preaching about climate change and how good China is. Read the first half and close the book.
