Lost Boy: The True Story of Captain Hook

This book so perfectly describes the power dynamics of abuse from a narcissistic person. It struck me in a place that hasn't quite healed. The worst part was knowing that the one you project upon never leaves his traumatic place. It's a tragedy. I recommend this book to anyone who needs catharsis in the form of recognition through the other. In other words, you will identify with Jaime. And it will be sad. But maybe that's what you need. To see yourself and be sad.

I really, really like this book. I dare say, I LOVE it. I never really cared for Peter Pan, not even when I first saw his Disney movie as a child. I read the original novel and different versions of his story, but my conclusion is always the same: Peter Pan is NOT a good person. I really sympathized and empathized with Jamie/Hook and hope that many others will do the same. I also hope for a sequel to this story. If there isn't going to be one, I'll understand. But if it will be published, I will be one of the first ones to read it. I hope Peter Pan gets his comeuppance and pays for his sins. Thank you for writing and allowing us to read this book!

I would definitely recommend this book to people and I have a completely new view of Peter Pan! I chose to rate this great book 4 stars for 2 reasons, one of which I won't spoil for future readers. The main reason, however, is because the first half of the book is a bit slow. Good but slow. Once the book finally picks up it doesn't stop until the end.
