Once they arrive, they find evidence suggesting that the murder victim might have uncovered proof of treachery by one or more Librarians. But to ensure the peace of the conference, some Librarians are being held as hostages in the dragon and Fae courts. To save the captives, including her parents, Irene must get to the bottom of this murder--but was it a dragon, a Fae, or even a Librarian who committed the crime?

Librarian Irene Winters, with the aid of her friends Vale, a consulting detective, and Kai, a Dragon prince, investigates the murder of a representative to a peace conference between order-bound Dragons and chaos-bound Fae which the Library is hosting on a neutral world. The investigation is complicated by factionalism within each of the three parties to the talks, but a failure to find the correct--and *politically acceptable*--solution to the crime could start a war that would devastate all of the worlds.

I love this series. The author has managed to create a compelling world. The main characters are likable and still evolving. The plits have remained fresh and exciting. This is one of the few series i buy instead of borrowing from the library.

Our dear amazing Irene, still with Kai and now also with Vale and Silver and other dragons and Fae, had to work together to solve a murder case! In the middle of a very important conference! surely there is no peaceful day for Irene, trouble after trouble... I'm so in love with her, I wish to give her a hug (but maybe Kai's hug is what she needs the most!)
