Great read!
Unbelievable Heroine
I must say I have read most of Mary Balogh's books including those out of print ones which I buy second-hand at great expense. There are some books I do not like as much as others but I have to say that this is the most dreadful book. I will not waste time reading the others in this series.
I felt the urge to smack the heroine at every turn. She was unbelievably stupid and I cannot imagine a woman of that era behaving like her. It was unbelievable how her abusive father suddenly appeared loving to the heroine. Most of the story was about her stupid desire to be free and not really knowing what that meant.
I will not get started on the hero. The only time I felt good about him was when he lost his temper with Alex, the ninny-hammer heroine. Up to that point he was just a major wuss. He then ruined it by apologizing for losing his temper!
I am so disappointed with this book I just had to write a review.
