This book hooked me from the beginning and didn't let go. A secret that Will was ashamed of haunted him-- carried through the entire novel-- and yet, was his driving force. The characters were done flawlessly-- three-dimensional, the type of people that I'd love to have lunch with. The story line was gritty and creepy with just the right amount of dark and menacing. Overall I gave this book five stars, a well-deserved rating for yet another excellent book by Karin Slaughter. She never disappoints. And this book, I have a feeling, will stay with me for a long time. The author dug deep into what it means to lose a child, the horror and pain the family goes through, their life upended forever. A must read for anyone who loves a good mystery.

Keeps you guessing until the end. Slaughter's books are so difficult to put down and this was no exception.

This book wasn't as quick to grab my attention as some of her others books but still a fun read.
