Unabridged Audiobook
I had really high hopes for this book. When the movie came out and I saw that it was based off a book, I wanted to read the book first. So while working, I have been listening to the book. The movie promos had me thinking that this was going to be a comedy. While it has some funny parts, a lot of it is more romantic and then dealing with your own mortality. The narrator was fantastic. She nailed all the pronunciations which was another reason I got the audio book. I guess if I'd known what it was, I would have enjoyed it more, it just wasn't what I was in the mood for at the time.
This is a book that has some humor, but is basically a sad reflection on old age and long-term relationships. It is a bitter-sweet story with love and disappointments, many disappointments. That’s life. The narrator was excellent - great variety of accents and voices to match the characters.
