Unabridged Audiobook
I've read several Reagan biographies. Lousy ones like Morris' "Dutch." And mediocre ones like Brands' "Reagan." This one ranks near the top for me. It's a thorough look at his life and times that covers the highs and lows equally well. It doesn't delve deeply into policy details, but it adequately reacquaints a reader with the issues and the debates going on during Reagan's time as governor and president. His pre-political life is covered particularly well, especially the GE years that more or less served as preparation for his political life. This also was a perfect marriage of book and narrator. Paul Michael's work with this text is outstanding. Enjoyable all the way around.
