Worth the Read
This is the 2nd book in a series. The writing style is not as integrated as the first book but compartmentalized by chapter. For me personally, it doesn’t flow as smoothly. As the story lines are weaved together, there is more drama with one line being too uncomfortable in its familial intertwined relationships for my preference. Then as the story ties up the loose ends of all the characters that come & go at the Inn in this book, a major bombshell is dropped in the Innkeepers own life with a character consistent to the first two books and that is where it ends. Like a soap opera instead of the relaxing book I had expected to follow the lines more closer to the first book. When I read a series, I like the writing style to remain consistent. This one, for me, diverged completely. Even so, I will read the third book because the first one was so well written and a lovely book with intrigue to keep one’s interest. My hope is the author returns to the first books style of writing. Integrated, interesting, with an ending that puts a period on the story & not a question mark, like this one did.
