Koontz really has something against those in Academia (The City also contains conspiring professors). This was a decent read, I especially liked the oddly formed, special relationship between Fric and Ethan. Let's face it the kid needed someone like Ethan. The ending was superb and I enjoyed that in this novel, DK didn't lead us on, ending every chapter hinting towards something happening that doesn't until the last few pages. Most Koontz books are mostly filler with some shocks thrown in to keep us turning the pages. This one though, I will admit was more than just tolerable. I liked it enough to give it four whole stars after all.

My favorite author. I love Koontz writing. This is a thrilling story about the worst and best extremes of humanity. The characters come alive in your mind as you read. Must read!
