Throat dry ,lips chapped, eyes like slits .Not a breath of wind nor a soul around .Sun lowering over the ridge to the west .Fingers itchin .Body tensed . Heart racing .Seems like days without rest .The moment is approaching .A dog starts barking south of my location .I pause slightly ears tweaked n senses on alert .Not long now .My finger is getting impatient .Not now I tell myself .Two more heart beats then ill go .NOW .Instantly I slide my index finger n turned the last page .Chick Bowdrie saves the day .
