About this audiobook

High school senior Keely Collins takes on firsts, lasts, and everything in between in this sweet, sex-positive rom-com for fans of Meg Cabot and Jenny Han.

It seemed like a good plan at first.

When the only other virgin in her group of friends loses it at Keely's own eighteenth birthday party, she's inspired to take things into her own hands. She wants to have that experience too (well, not exactly like that--but with someone she trusts and actually likes), so she's going to need to find the guy, and fast. Problem is, she's known all the boys in her small high school forever, and it's kinda hard to be into a guy when you watched him eat crayons in kindergarten.

So she can't believe her luck when she meets a ridiculously hot new guy named Dean. Not only does he look like he's fallen out of a classic movie poster, but he drives a motorcycle, flirts with ease, and might actually be into her.

But Dean's already in college, and Keely is convinced he'll drop her if he finds out how inexperienced she is. That's when she talks herself into a new plan: her lifelong best friend, Andrew, would never hurt or betray her, and he's clearly been with enough girls that he can show her the ropes before she goes all the way with Dean. Of course, the plan only works if Andrew and Keely stay friends--just friends--so things are about to get complicated.

Cameron Lund's delightful debut is a hilarious and heartfelt story of first loves, first friends, and first times--and how making them your own is all that really matters.

I had mixed feeling about this book when I first started reading it and actually really liked the intro to the book however, I wasn't really liking the vibe on how these high school students felt so pressured to have sex so that they wouldn't be a virgin anymore. You can immediately see how much Andrew is into his best friend Keely and she is just stuck on this whole we are so close and have been best friends since birth kind of thing. The author did a really great job at showing how Andrew adored her, but kept his feelings in check. Everyone in this small town knows everything and everything about everyone and that is the real problem. Keely is celebrating her 18th birthday as a virgin and she is not excited about it because she doesn't want to end high school as the only virgin. Even the most popular girl finally loses hers at Keely's party. Keely ends up having to get a summer job and meets a hot junior in college. She really likes him, but she's shy and nervous since she has never had a boyfriend before. Keely ends up spending a lot of time with this guy named Dean and she tries to hide the fact that she is a virgin and she gets close to having sex with him, but always finds a way out of the situation. She wants to lose her virginity to someone who she can trust so one of her best friends suggest that she sleeps with her best friend Andrew since he's so experienced or so she thought. Her plan to sleep with Andrew falls apart and they struggle to retain that friendship. Eventually at prom night, Keely discovers so many things that she is far from the only virgin still in school and that Andrew is actually crazy in love with her. She rushes to tell him that she has come to the realization that she is in love with him as well before he makes a big mistake as well. I love how these two find each other in the end and finally get their happy ending. I also have to say that I love the fact that the author turns the tables were there were actually so many different people in this small school who really just have the perception that they have slept with someone else for whatever reason and really were still virgins. I feel like this brings some of the pressure off of teens to know that they don't always have to fit into the crowd to be able to fit in and it really shows light on how we keep friendships just because we are in high school. Overall, this book was really good and an easy read.
