About the Author

Rachel Rooney trained and worked as a teacher of Special Needs for many years before re-discovering her love of writing poetry. Her first poetry collection won the CLPE Poetry Award and was long-listed for the Carnegie Medal. She was also shortlisted for the CLiPPA 2015, and has been a judge for both the C LiPPA and the Betjeman Poetry Prize. Rachel was born in London and now lives in Brighton.

Zehra Hicks is a tutor at Chelsea College of Arts, where she completed a Short Course in Book Illustration in 2009. Since then, she has been highly commended for the Macmillan Prize for Illustration, nominated for the Kate Greenaway, and was shortlisted for the Read It Again! Cambrdgeshire Children's Picture Book Award. Zehra lives with her family in Epsom, Surrey.
