It is good to have dresden back in action. However, I feel like this book delves more into the main character's relationships with other characters than with the actual plot. It seems as though we don't actually get into the subject of the book until after half of it. It was like a long detailed introduction, which I guess it is. I am willing to wait to read the second book coming out soon to get the whole picture, otherwise I would be furious about about a book that is welcome after all these year, but feels really incomplete.

this book is meant to be the first half of a two parter with battle ground and it shows. the ending is one of the most sheer cliffhangers ive ever been left on and if the second half wasn't set to come out in a month or two i would be furious. That said, the book on it's own is still a fantastic read, and the audiobook with James Marsters' dulcet tones, which are forever stuck in my head as THE VOICE of Harry Dresden is an even better listen. This book really digs deep into Dresden's lore, people who haven't been reading or listening to the short story anthologies will maybe feel as though they've missed something here or there, but it's in no way necessary reading for you to enjoy Peace Talks. Honestly, though if you've gotten this far, I mean come on you're already like 15 books in what's two more gonna do to ya? Maybe wait until battle ground is out and pick both of these up as one if you're like me and you hate cliffhangers.

Another amazing installment of the Dresden Files. It was an extremely enjoyable read. Fans will certainly love this book and will be excited to finally get a new Dresden adventure. However, I do have to say it's a shame we have to wait for Battle Ground to get the full story. Also, I was missing a few characters and more development on outstanding storylines. I'm looking forward to Battle Ground and hope it covers everything I felt was missing in Peace Talks. Even so, it's still a must read.
